Rebuilding a Sustainable Haiti: Symposium

On June 4th, the IfUD brought together representatives from Haiti and the U.S. to identify needs in planning for Haiti’s long-term economic and social welfare, and develop a plan to address them.

Urban Design Week

A big thank you to the Rockefeller Foundation for the grant they awarded to our project for an annual open-air festival to celebrate the year’s innovations in architecture and urban design.

Arrested Development: Public Symposium

On November 8, 2009 we gathered at the Cooper Union, Great Hall in New York to examine the effects of the global financial crisis on urban development and the ramifications of the re-emergence of megaprojects.

6th Breakfast Club

A bi-monthly series of informal meetings in which renowned architecture critics and policy partners are invited for a dialogue with Institute Fellows.

New York 2030: Public Symposium

The New York 2030 symposium focused on Mayor Bloomberg's PlaNYC, an ambitious project to turn New York into the world’s most sustainable metropolis. The symposium inspired the first of the Notebooks.

Kick-Off Party

On February 8, 2009, fellows, friends and supporters of the Institute for Urban Design gathered at Institute board member Thom Mayne's New York Morphosis office for a kick-off celebration.
